Jessica Seveska grew up playing numerous sports as a kid and has always considered herself to be an active person, but believes nothing has ever consistently challenged her or made more positive differences in her life than CrossFit has.
Seveska was introduced to CrossFit in the Fall of 2010 after trying numerous different “workouts” ranging from bikram yoga to spinning classes and boot camps. She was bored with the usual routine and was looking for something more. When a coworker suggested she try a CrossFit class — which in her description included weight lifting, body weight movements and an overall ass kicking of a workout — she took the challenge. Shortly after, Seveska became a member of CrossFit 312 (drawn in by the community) and quickly jumped at the opportunity to become a coach after experiencing the 2011 CrossFit Regional Games firsthand.
One of her favorite aspects about CrossFit is the ability to constantly grown and be challenged — something she encourages all of our members at CF 312 to do, everyday.
“Starting out not knowing a single thing about CrossFit and having never lifted a bar in my existence… saying I had a lot to learn is putting it lightly. Since that day, I’ve been pushing myself to grow as an athlete and as a person. I love being able to hit PRs and perform movements I never thought I would be able to do. CrossFit 312 changed the way I see health, strength, nutrition and life balance but even more importantly, I’m proud to be a part of the amazing community here. I’m so excited to work with our members and eager to help them grow as athletes.”
