Sick of the common gym routine of elliptical machines, pulley systems and awkward locker room interactions, Mike Zemanski wanted something different. At the time, he lived in Washington, DC, and ventured into his first CrossFit by accident when one of the coaches at a prospective gym he had been looking at suggested attending a class. His first workout: 100 push-ups…for time. Although Zemanski finished 10 minutes after everyone else, he was hooked on the concept.
Over the past four years, CrossFit has provided him with the mental and physical challenge he has craved, a competitive outlet, and encouraged him to learn more about health, nutrition and wellness. In addition to the physical benefits, shortly after he committed to CrossFit, Zemanski started noticing positive changes in his attitude and overall outlook on life.
On November 3, 2014, Mike Zemanski became an owner of CrossFit 312 along with Lindsay Arends, Stephen Hoesley and Jessica Balfour.
“We’ve built a CrossFit 312 community that is passionate about improving the lives of our athletes and helping each other reach our goals inside and outside of the gym. I’m proud to be member, a trainer and owner. Sharing my cross-training knowledge and passion is truly a rewarding experience. Nothing is better than watching an athlete meet a goal or obtain a new personal record. I hope to be part of many more of these moments and encourage everyone to consider becoming a member of CrossFit 312’s life-changing community.”
