May 2019 – Meg Fitzgerald
Nickname: The Meg
In general, what is your background?
I was born and raised in Seattle, WA and grew up riding and showing horses competitively around the west coast. I was homeschooled from 4th grade through high school, and then I moved to Texas for college where I majored in Bioinformatics. After graduation I came to Chicago for a software engineering position at Solstice.
How long have you been a member at our gym, how did you learn about CF and why did you start?
I had been doing crossfit for around 8 months before I moved here and knew I wanted to continue. I joined 312 when I first came here in August, I tried a few other gyms around the city but the first day I dropped into 312, Megan and Taylor said hi to me and told me that I should join and that was all it took.
How has being a member at 312 changed your life/lifestyle/level of fitness?
Honestly, I can thank 312 for all of my fitness achievements. I’ve gained 10lbs since I joined (hopefully some of that is muscle), can RX almost all workouts now, and have PR’d every single lift. I got my first muscle up here too!
