In general, what is your background?
Born and raised in Chicago/Chicago suburbs. I just moved to the West Loop a little over a year ago which I why I joined 312!

How long have you been a member at our gym, how did you learn about CF and why did you start?
A little over a year. My first experience with CrossFit was through a Groupon that CrossFit Rise had. I liked it but didn’t end up signing up for CrossFit once the Groupon ended. I’m not sure what made me end up ditching the boring gym routine to go to CrossFit but now I refuse to go back to a globo gym.

How has being a member at 312 changed your life/lifestyle/level of fitness?
Every gym programs workouts differently and focuses more on certain movements than others. Rope climbs were something I rarely worked on before coming to 312 and now I can say I’m pretty comfortable with rope climbs and not scared about falling off!

Short term goals (gym and/or personal):
build up some leg strength.

Long term goals (gym and/or personal):
Drink less, eat healthier. Stop being scared of doing handstands and finally do it.

What do you like most about being a member at 312?
Having so many strong girls to workout alongside who motivate me to push myself.

Favorite and least favorite movements:
Do not like thrusters (and MU because they still elude me).
Favorites are toes to bar and double unders.

Favorite and least favorite WODs:
Favorites- Grace and Annie.
Least favorite-Fran

Favorite post-WOD meal:
I normally don’t eat after working out which isn’t a good habit. But if I do, I would have a Progenex cookies and cream or peanut butter smash shake.

Wedding Crashers, Despicable Me

Favorite book:
Lord of the Rings

Favorite artist:
Dillon Francis, Tiesto

Favorite quote or words you live by?
“Change is the only thing constant in life.” Change is always scary, but over the years I’ve learned to embrace it. Pushing myself outside my comfort zone was never something I would willingly do growing up but now I see how much more I can grow as a person when I do push myself outside my comfort zone.

What are a few of your most notable achievements?
Making it through (and sticking with) engineering in college, getting my professional engineering license, getting PADI certified.

I’m passionate about:
Food. I’m a foodie and Yelper. Yes, I’m that person who won’t let you eat until I’ve taken a picture of the food.

Fun fact that we don’t know about you:
I am obsessed with green tea kit kats and minions (hence loving the movie Despicable me). I have minions at my desk at work and plenty more around the apartment.
